Glossary
Glossary entries are arranged in standard pinyin order, which is alphabetic with tones ordered numerically:ā,á,ǎ,à,a.Note that we have incorporated standard phonetic rules for pronunciation in our pinyin rendering, so,for example,不當is represented as búdàng rather than bùdàng, which is how it will be found in most dictionaries. Other written forms that have significant use in English, especially Wade-Giles, will be listed after the pinyin in brackets, eg. Dàozàng [Tao Tsang]. Editions of texts used in this volume are marked with our standard abbreviations, e.g. BY, ACG. The meaning of these abbreviations can be found on page∅. Abbreviation: 【5Q】= 5 Questions; 【YWJ】= Yáng Wǔjīn’s Chapter; 【Jeremy】=Jeremy’s interpretations; 【tran. From YWJ】= Translation from YWJ’s glossary of Chinese version by Fengxiang or volume 2 glossory; 【new】= Content collected and organized by Fengxiang.
